How To Get To Folegandros

You can fly either to Athens or to nearby Santorini, the nearest island with an airport.

By quick boat (big hydrofoils) from Santorini 30 min. By quick boat from Athens (Pireaus) 2 hours and 40 min.
The summer timetable begins about 20th June and from then on ferries or hydrofoils run almost every day.
You can find information about boats by looking at website http://www.gtpnet.com/

It's a good idea to buy their tickets well in advance. There are many money saving, if you do it.
I can recommend these flight-search engines, which tend to find the cheapest tickets:

To get to Folegandros you sail from Piraeus.

Sailing times are not yet updated for September, but there used to be two departures from Piraeus to Folegandros 1st September, both ferries sailing fairly early (around pm. 7) in the morning.

Kl. 07.25 arrival from Piraeus Folegandros pm. 13.45 of 'Agios Georgios' (Prices from 31 euros)
Kl. 07.25 arrival from Piraeus Folegandros pm. 11.10 with 'Super Jet' (price 58.50 euros)
These times may change, but I send them to you anyway, so I can get a sense of travel time and cost.

I recommend buying a ticket through a local travel agency in Folegandros: Diaplous General Tourism Office http://www.diaploustravel.gr/
You get a booking number and pick up his ticket in a "kiosk", which lies just across from the ferry. You have to download it 40 minutes before departure. The ferry usually sail from GATE E9 in Piraeus. Margarita from 'Diaplous' are happy and quickly to emails, write to her in English if I have questions about the ticket. You do not buy the return ticket here from Denmark. It can be purchased on Folegandros. It's a good idea to have an overnight stay in Athens at both ends of the journey.
Two hotels that are reasonable in price and is good in relation to transport to Folegandros.
